I went through treatment myself and once I was through worked for a lovely charity supporting other women my age going through cancer for 2 years. I learned so much about cancer prevention and what women really needed here.
I then left to train as a health and life coach but I knew it wasn’t quite getting to the root of things. I wanted to truly help make change for my beautiful survivors so I trained in Hypnotherapy and Rapid Healing.

Will I be asleep?
Contrary to popular belief, hypnosis is not a state of deep sleep. It does involve the induction of a trance-like condition, but when in it, the patient is actually in an enhanced state of awareness, concentrating entirely on the hypnotist’s voice. In this state, the conscious mind is suppressed and the subconscious mind is revealed. The therapist is able to suggest ideas, concepts and lifestyle adaptations to the patient, the seeds of which become firmly planted.
The practice of promoting healing or positive development in any way is known as hypnotherapy. As such, hypnotherapy is a kind of psychotherapy. Hypnotherapy aims to re-programme patterns of behaviour within the mind, enabling irrational fears, phobias, negative thoughts and suppressed emotions to be overcome.
As the body is released from conscious control during the relaxed trance-like state of hypnosis, breathing becomes slower and deeper, the pulse rate drops and the metabolic rate falls. Similar changes along nervous pathways and hormonal channels enable the sensation of pain to become less acute, and the awareness of unpleasant symptoms, such as nausea or indigestion, to be alleviated.
How Does It Work?
Hypnosis is thought to work by altering our state of consciousness in such a way that the analytical left-hand side of the brain is turned off, while the non-analytical right-hand side is made more alert.
The conscious control of the mind is inhibited, and the subconscious mind awoken. Since the subconscious mind is a deeper-seated, more instinctive force than the conscious mind, this is the part which has to change for the patient’s behaviour and physical state to alter.
For example, someone wants to overcome their fear of spiders may try everything they consciously can to do it, but will still fail as long as their subconscious mind retains this terror and prevents the patient from succeeding.
Progress can only be made by reprogramming the subconscious so that deep-seated instincts and beliefs are abolished or altered.
Why is Hypno-Healing Different?
A conventional hypnotherapist will usually have a script they follow. They will do a consultation to find what you want and need and then go into a standard script with you when you are in hypnosis. The man points are not tailored to you and your mind might easily reject them if they don’t fit.
For example, suggesting you love going for a job every morning when your mind knows full well that you had an operation on your knee and cant do it. Now the whole script gets rejected by your sub conscious and falls on deaf ears.
Hypno-Healing works with your own words, beliefs and desires. I weave together what you want with affirmations and the vision that comes out of the session so that none of the suggestions get rejected because there is no resistance. They are your own words so they get accepted fully and change can happen much faster.
Will you make me cluck like a chicken?
Absolutely not!
Hypnosis is not mind control, just a deeper version of a guided meditation. The Therapist makes suggestions which help people make positive changes within themselves but your mind can reject anything it doesn’t want to do.
You will be conscious at all times, just in a very deep relaxation. You can always choose to come out of hypnosis, choose not to say things you don’t want to.
In a Hypnotherapy session you are always in control and are not made to do anything. All Hypnosis is Self Hypnosis and a Hypnotherapist just facilitates the client’s experience.
Is Hypnosis Safe?
Hypnosis is a very natural state of mind.
In fact, you enter into a state of hypnosis many times a day. Let me give you some examples:
You are driving in your car and you almost miss your turn because you are so focused on a specific thought – that is highway hypnosis.
When you arrive at your destination and don’t even remember how you got there because your mind was somewhere else – that is a state of hypnosis.
If you are watching TV or reading a really good book and someone is talking to you, but you don’t hear a word they say because you are so focused on your show – that is a state of hypnosis!
What if I cant be hypnotised?
They all say that!
